The annual cruise on beautiful Kerr Lake is set for Saturday June 1, 2019. Kerr Lake straddles the border with Virginia. We will cruise to C’ville on Saturday June 1. We will launch from the Flemingtown Road launch facility just outside Henderson, NC. The cruise to Clarksville is about 90 minutes and will cross the state line. We plan to leave NLT 1030. We need to go early in order to get a space at the town docks which may be crowded. If your boat is already on the lake, let me know if you want to join us on the way up. Land cruisers are always welcomed to meet us in Clarksville, VA about 1200 to enjoy lunch or shopping. If you are land cruising let me know so we can keep an eye out. Please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know if you will be joining us either by land or water. Cell reception on the lake is spotty but worth a try, my cell is 919-395-6731 if you have questions. If you would like to crew, send me an email and I will match you up with a boat captain. If you are looking for someone to crew on your boat, let me know. This is a beautiful ride on the water and it would be awful to miss it if you are between boats or your boat is in a Marina slip elsewhere. We will try something different this year with highway mariners spending the weekend at one of the many state parks on the lake. If you are interested in camping that weekend let me know. JC Cooper has many sites available. Directions to the launch facility, from Raleigh and points south:
1. US 1 North to I-85
2. I-85 North one exit to Flemingtown Rd. Exit 220
3. Turn right onto Flemingtown road
4. Head north till the road ends
5. Turn right at the Wildlife boat ramp sign, follow the gravel road to the ramp.
